If we had all the time in the world would we feel like kings, or would it atrophy our will to create? Our will to live? I have felt the sting of death enough to value the present and not project my hopes and dreams on to an empty future. I’ve got a problem with ideologies that preach salvation by transcending the present. “All these times, occasions and places are now and here. What culminates in the present moment is divine.”* Escape guilt and the death life. Embrace this living world, here and now. If we had all the time in the world would we feel like kings?
My original wording was almost the same as a line in Walden by H. D. Thoreau, his being obviously more articulate, so I used his instead.
